I'm so happy Boulder Mountain Lodge now has nice new electric tea kettles in each room! Now I can make my Aeropress coffee and my afternoon tea and not have to use the capsule coffee makers that were previously here or try to use the microwave to heat water. Coffee is also now available in the common room in the morning if you don't want to make it. Also the lodge has upgraded pillows and linens in the rooms as well. Definitely some improvements at the lodge. Loved it!

What a find...I will be back

I flat loved this place, staying here for five days of long-overdue solo time and a writing retreat while my wife was off hiking with friends in the national monument. This was a win-win. Boulder, Utah could not be in a more stunning setting. The nearby scenery is so beautiful and different. My room was very large and super comfortable. The patio where I set up my laptop was just perfect. The extensive grounds are very nice and our dog loved every inch of it. Yes, this place is pet-friendly in every respect. This is not a fancy or luxury place. That very idea would be foreign in this wild part of Utah. Instead, the words I would use are comfortable, intentional and well-loved. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. A special shout-out to Nina for her always pleasant good cheer. Last, but far from least, the associated restaurant, Hell's Backbone Grill, is unspeakably good. (I will write a separate review of it.) And the food truck on premises, Littlebone, is a wonderful place for breakfast or an early lunch. I could not have imagined a better or more productive and renewing stay...and am grateful. While I had anticipated that this would be a one-time trip, it most decidedly will be anything but.

Very Nice But Read My Cautionary Statements

The rooms are very nice. Bed is comfortable. Bathroom is very upscale and towels are very high quality. HOWEVER BE AWARE, the air conditioning is motion sensitive. You will have to get up multiple times in the night to decrease the temperature so as to attempt to keep the air conditioner cooling the room. Otherwise it will think that no one is there. Perhaps there is a way to override this function ALSO, even though there are NO "Do Not Disturb" signs for use on your door knob, the cleaning crew will wake you up in the morning. Be sure to ask for a DO NOT DISTURB sign so that you can sleep in if desired!!!!! The food at the restaurant is delicious: worth the price (even if you have to suffer through a very obsequious, bordering on weird, waiter).

My husband and I stayed one night at Boulder Mountain Lodge--our first trip back in many years. Our room was wonderful. It was super quiet, had a comfortable bed, a little table to get some work done, kitchenette items so we could make coffee in the room as well as a fridge (to store leftovers from dinner). The adirondack chairs outside the room made a relaxing place to read a book or watch birds dip in and out of the wetlands. We also took advantage of the common building's upper balcony overlooking the bird sanctuary and pond. It's an incredible sight in the desert. Every staff member we interacted with was super friendly and helpful. The Lodge also has a little gift shop in the registration building. We had a tasty lunch at Burr Trail Grill and a delicious dinner at Hell's Backbone Grill (which is on the grounds of the the Lodge). HBG is a bit of a splurge, but absolutely worth it. BML was the perfect place to beat the heat from Salt Lake (it was over 100 in SLC but only low 80s in Boulder!) and be spoiled by both the scenery and the accommodations. Wish we'd had time for a longer stay. We won't wait so long to return for our next visit!

Nice stay as usual, though the shower/toilet room needs more light. There's only the single built-in light in the fan for the entire room and it's quite dim in there. Make sure to stop by the restaurant for lunch or dinner, though unfortunately they've stopped doing breakfast.
