Family recently stayed at Zion ponderosa and had a great time and will definitely return. Resort is family friendly lots of activities and tours to choose from. Food in the mess hall was good, would like to have seen a little more variety, but was tasty. Pros and cons to the location. Pro is that it's very spacious and open to roam around with lots to do. Con is distance from Zion np. Is at best 30 minute drive back down the mountain to get to the shuttle to take you into the park without traffic. Zion during spring break was packed and had to get there early to get parking, so had to wake up early to get down there. If your main goal is to see Zion only, would recommend staying in spring dale, burn if you're seeing Zion, Bryce and doing other activities or tours, highly recommend Zion ponderosa.

Roughing It, Without All the Work -- Glamping Was Great

We stayed 2 nights in a glamping tent & enjoyed our stay! The bed was very comfortable and the extra blankets came in handy as the temperatures dropped. Heaters (electric and propane) are provided and we found the electric heater sufficient for keeping us cozy overnight. The 2nd night was a little noisy as high winds battered the tent around a bit, but that just added to the "roughing it" vibes. Getting to see millions of stars was incredible. The community bathrooms were clean & the individual shower rooms were nice. No toiletries or hair dryers are provided, so be sure to pack those if needed. We didn't get a chance to enjoy the pool or other sporty amenities, but there's lots to do on the resort. The restaurant was great after a long day of hiking & prices were reasonable. Communication leading up to our stay was informative. Proximity to Zion's East Entrance and Bryce Canyon was great. We enjoyed our stay and had a great time being outdoorsy without all the work of setting up camp ourselves.

Overall great stay in East Zion

Positives: concierge service was very helpful in planning our trip - they were prompt in answering my many questions about our visit as it was our first time in the area. Staff was pleasant and courteous - it has the feel of a family-run resort. The location is nice if you are staying in Zion for more than a couple of nights. It is a 45 min drive to the main park entrance in Springdale, so if you plan to spend more than a day in that area of the park, I’d say stay closer to Springdale. We stayed 4 nights and spent one day in East Zion canyoneering and one day in Bryce Canyon so it worked out ok. The property is vast and has many activities for kids (even though we didn’t get to take advantage of much since it was snowing- but our kids enjoyed the hot tub and waterslide.) The restaurant on site is convenient after a long day of exploring the park- the food definitely isn’t fancy but it’s good enough- includes a gluten free pizza for kids and a decent salad/soup bar. The house itself we stayed in (Zion’s Edge) was large but disappointing in that we found mice poop in several areas - clearly it hasn’t been thoroughly cleaned enough before our arrival. Maintenance was slow to respond but once they arrived were apologetic and accommodating. Also we would have appreciated the house being stocked with a few more simple pantry items like salt and coffee filters. Overall I’d recommend to friends staying at least a few days in the Zion area- the reasonable price and friendly staff make up for any negatives.

What an incredible place! Views were to die for. Family gathered from all over for celebrations and had such a great time. Resort was spotlessly clean and the cabins were so great we wanted to move in. If we're ever back this way, will definitely come again.

Our room had spiders in the wagon and IN the beds. The floor was dirty and there were stink bugs in the room as well. When I asked for the staff to clean our cabin, they never came. I had to borrow a broom and clean the room myself. We were also promised that our heater would keep us warm and that the blankets on the beds would be adequate for the night. That was not true! Thank goodness we brought our winterwear because we would have literally frozen had we not worn our hats, coats, and gloves.
