We have never done an exchange before so we expected the same calibre of unit that we have in Hawaii. The property was 2 star not the 5 star that we exchanged.
Not being in Banff proper did not present a problem because we had our own vehicle. They had a shuttle service to Banff town.
The unit was not very well equipped however the staff, particularly Marco, were very helpful when we needed kitchen utensils. The staff were ALL very friendly and helpful. They were doing the best to make the guest experience a good one in spite of the decrepit facility.
Although the unit was very dated
and tired looking it was clean. The appliances were similar to those you would find in a low end apartment. The dishwasher was extremely noisy.
My big complaint was the mattress was extremely hard. The staff tried their best with what they had to rectify the problem by bringing me 4 fibrefill mattress covers and 2 fibrefill duvets. In spite of their best efforts we left a day early.

In town a couple days for work, good stay overall.

Published Date: Mar, 14, 2025 Travel Date: Mar, 1, 2025 Rating: 4 Myself and a coworker were in town a few days for an annual industry show/conference.
I will be honest, i was a bit apprehensive after reading some of the other reviews (which i read after booking of course).
i was in room 903, and my coworker was in room 905.
and well, i was actually quite satisfied with my stay. room was fairly modern, and clean which is what is most important to me. not sure if it had been renovated or updated, but there was nothing wrong with my room at all. lots of towels and always hot water for a shower. housekeeping did a very good job.
there was a little fridge, coffee maker, and microwave.
hotel is definitely a bit dated, but over all was clean and the staff were friendly.
we ate at the hotel restaurant twice....once for breakfast (quick) and once for dinner. did a separate review for their Alpha Bistro also.
overall i can recommend this hotel as i had no issues with my visit. the only thing is it is on the outskirts of town, and our venue was right downtown, so was a bit inconvenient in regards to getting cabs and whatnot (there is no uber in banff).

Published Date: Feb, 28, 2025 Travel Date: Feb, 1, 2025 Rating: 1 7 night 6 day ski trip arrived at midnight with my wife and another couple to find that they had mysteriously cancelled our reservation. The highlight of our stay was the front desk clerk that checked us in. We were a bit cranky after a long day of flights from Boston to Calgary. She was polite, patient with my grumpiness and found us a room. She handled us very well.
The room:
Dirty - empty bottles under the bed, trash on the bedroom shelves and dust everywhere. The fireplace hearth was missing stones, the floors looked like they were used for a hockey rink.
Staff and amenities:
The outdoor hot tub was out of order, the fitness room hadn’t been updated since the 70’s. Other than the women that checked us in, the staff was unfriendly and seemed annoyed with our presence.
The shuttle:
The resort advertises free shuttle to Sunshine and encourages a car free vacation. The shuttle no longer runs when asked for suggestions I was told that most people rent a car

Would definately stay there again in the condo on the next visit to Banff. Very quiet and away from the main resort. Very clean, nice fireplace and kitchen with accessories. Very spacious. We didn t use the pool or the gym etc. but the condo was nice for family just to hang out and watch TV and play board games together. Great family time. There is ample parking and woods and views of the mountains to explore. Warm and the beds were very comfortable . Queen size beds. Good Organization of the condo. I liked that there were two bathrooms which were very clean with extras body moisturier for use and soap conditioner and shampoo. Loved the place especially the bathroom that was downstairs so I could take a shower in the middle of the night after my sciatica acted up after all the walking in Banff during day. Very few suggestions for improvement. Maybe updated living room furniture with more outdoor patio furniture set so that a table could be put outside with the chairs on the balcony, that way there could be a large drop down futon in front of the fireplace and two comfortable outdoor cushioned chairs for staff to launder and swipe down easier. A ping pong table from Walmart maybe because the condo is very spacious with a dining room set and the guests would nt have to walk or drive to main resort to play pool with family. As well windows in the winter were fairly clean could use daily wipe down and dusting and windex to see the mountains. But loved this resort good price great family time very warm and cozy and very clean with comforters on the beds. Also there is a free shuttle bus to Banff downtown.

Needs some work

Two bedroom condo needs some polish. Bedrooms are tiny and lack closets. Paint was peeling on the woodwork, and there wasn’t enough coffee for our entire stay. Sunday brunch was grossly overpriced, so we opted to eat in town.
More troubling was the pool and hot tub: the outdoor hot tub was filthy, so we used the indoor hot tub. Whatever they used to treat the water ruined our swimsuits by bleaching them. The women’s locker room had no towels, the hot water for the shower didn’t work and neither did the hand dryer in the women’s locker room.
