The service and food were excellent. The room was very nice and clean. As noted above, all of the staff and management were outstanding without exception. The feel of the place was wonderful. This trip was to celebrate our wedding anniversary and staying at the Mimslyn Inn gave us a positive memory we can cherish for years to come. We used one of their getaway packages, and it was an exceptional value. We will definitely go there again and highly recommend the Mimslyn Inn to anyone wanting a nice getaway.

Does it have flaws, yes, but what hotel doesn't. It is truly beautiful in the spring. We love to chill in the hammocks or relax under the shelter behind the hotel.
Fred and Beth always greet you with smiles. They are down home people and treat you like a friend. Be sure to chat with Fred, he's a pretty cool dude.

Super nice staff. Slightly Dated hotel.

For example, they got her a special drink. And let us in the hot tub a bit before the scheduled opening time. Hotel is a bit dated, but they made up for it with how nice they were.

Bed & No Breakfast

Published Date: Mar, 12, 2025 Travel Date: Mar, 1, 2025 Rating: 3 Arrived late in the evening. Warm reception at check in. When I asked what time breakfast was served the response was it isn’t. The young man suggested that there were several coffee shops close by. And, someone would be in the lobby serving muffins, coffee and tea in the morning. The room was nice but a bit dated. Plenty of room for a $45 bottle of wine and 2 glasses but no coffee maker. Bathroom a little compact but otherwise OK. Climate controlled noisy Drove 11 miles for a standard breakfast in New Market.

Disappointed

Published Date: Jan, 5, 2025 Travel Date: Jan, 1, 2025 Rating: 2 This hotel is overrated for the price. I understand that it's an "historic" hotel, but the sign says "luxury accomodations" - and that is far from the truth. Our room was so bright with the shades pulled, you may as well have left them open. The bathroom towel holder completely fell off when I took the towel off the rack - and the towels were tiny and scratchy. Yikes! We found the bed okay, but extremely firm. We heard all the noises from the hallway. The TV is straight out of the 1990s - very small, few channels and no streaming options at all. The restaurant was closed while we there, so I can't comment on that. They didn't provide any coffee service in the lobby, although the station was set up - I guess because the kitchen was closed. The price does not match the accomodations. There is little competition in the area and I think that's why they get away with these prices. Save your money and drive a few miles to a better hotel.
