Convenient to downtown

The Inn does not have an elevator so be prepared in case you need assistance. The breakfast is continental and if you need gluten free, they have some choices of bread and pastries you can ask for. This is not a 5 star establishment however, for the area, its pretty good. My room was comfortable and quiet.

Disappointing

The staff was not cordial or welcoming and in one case we had to track them down to find assistance.
Our room was very cheaply furnished – I could find better lamps and side tables at TJ Maxx! There was only one mirror – in the bathroom. A full-length mirror in the bedroom would have been useful. The shower curtain was the cheapest thing I’ve ever seen. Towels were thin and there was only one bath towel rod. The toilet paper rod was loose so the TP kept falling off.
I have no problem with refillable bath products such as shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion (it’s better for the environment) but housekeeping needs to refill them when they get low.
There was also a lot of noise coming from another room which I think was their bathroom fan – it was VERY noticeable in our room creating a loud buzzing noise.
The most annoying thing was that the TV remote didn’t work properly – you could turn it on & off, but changing channels and volume was very hit & miss if it worked at all. We told the front desk and left a note in our room for housekeeping – but it was not fixed!
The continental breakfast was fine except the toaster handles were both broken, making it difficult to start or stop the toasting. The toaster should be functional if you are going to present yourself as a high-end property.
We would NOT recommend the Queen Anne’s Revenge to anyone. We’ve stayed at older Inns such as this and the amenities have been first class, so we were expecting it to be a special property and it was not.

Bar Harbor Gem

I'm kind of a hotel sub having previously worked in that industry and currently owning a travel agency. But this place is so nice. Has the air of a bed and breakfast. Nice big bedroom and oversized bathroom with large whirlpool tub. Mini fridge and plenty of room for your clothes and bags. The bed is super comfy. Lots of natural light. Fresh coffee served all day and great little breakfast with assorted muffins and pastries. There is a rum bar adjacent called The Black Spot. It's located within a 10-minute walk to Main St. There are lots of restaurants nearby and a 2-minute walk to a grocery store. I'd definitely stay here again and will refer to my travel clients.

I’ll start with the good points - very comfortable king sized bed and pillows so we slept very well. Close to the supermarket for essentials. Breakfast is a help yourself cold buffet with bagels, cake, muffins and juice plus ‘help yourself’ tea and coffee. The tea / coffee is available all day so a nice touch. Nice glass of champagne on arrival. But - the place needs doing up - carpets mucky, bathroom dated (awful in fact with a shallow bath / shower which was a strange all-in-one plastic contraption) furnishings tatty. Plus the room had poor facilities - no water, thin non absorbent towels, thin sheets. This inn is extremely expensive for what you get. Staff are virtually invisible (no idea who owns or runs it) and nobody speaks unless you make eye contact and speak first. I can’t recommend it unfortunately.

Absolutely loved Queen Anne’s Revenge!

There were many choices for the continental breakfast and coffee is available all day! Our bed was super comfortable and needed after a day of hiking! We stayed in the main building on the 3rd floor. We were on a 10 day trip so we had large luggage. There is not an elevator, so that part was challenging. Overall, I wish we had more time to spend there. It is a beautiful place!
