As advertised this castle has reinvented itself several times over since it’s construction in the late 1800’s. The rooms and layout reflect its history. They have worked to keep much of the original designs. That said, the showers are cozy and the shower head streamed outside the shower creating a puddle on the floor. Our room overlooked the bay, which let a lot of nice light in. Staff were friendly.

Zero accountability, thieve-like

Booked this hotel through Priceline for our honeymoon because we were going to do a whale watching of of the city of port Townsend. When we went to book the whale watching it was full. We then checked the cancellation policy of the hotel and had until 6:30 PM to cancel (this is what the policy through which we booked stated) for a full refund. They charged us for one of the nights and refunded the other half. Appears that this hotels and the sites they advertise through have different policies. We have proof of the cancellation policy and they still won't honor the policy of which we followed. We wouldn't have cancelled the rooms had we not been able to get a full refund and would've found something else to do here. Now they've made 150$ off honeymooners whose room was booked for 3 mins. Calling the hotel is pointless as no one will answer and we are getting nowhere with either of the two groups involved. I'd save your money and find a place that still has compassion, accountability and some customer service.

I thought it would be cool to stay in a castle on our road trip. I'm not sure that Manresa Castle quite lived up to expectations. The history of the building is fascinating. Some of the current design/ decor choices in both the common spaces and in our room are a bit interesting. Despite there being a few common areas, we didn't feel comfortable hanging out in any of them for various reasons. Our room itself was clean, and we did have a view.

Almost a great place to stay

A historic property with the potential to be a lovely, understated, and comfortable place to stay in the Victorian seaport of Port Townsend. What it needs to get there: fresh linens (the sheets and blankets were very old, thin, and tired), regular housekeeping (at least emptying waste baskets, providing soap and TP for a week, taking away wet towels and bringing new ones), clean carpets, better lighting, roomier shower stalls, signage without grammatical errors.

Cool and Quirky

A quirky and cool old place that reminds me of hotels in Europe back in the day. Nice room and comfortable bed. A newly remodeled bathroom. Some quirks that might cause problems for some people like a step up to the bathroom and a step to watch out for when leaving lobby--but we enjoyed our stay, and the price was right.
